A Livingston Parish firefighter died Saturday morning after experiencing a medical emergency shortly after battling a house fire.

Firefighter Scott Osenenko, 45, with Fire Protection District No. 4 responded to 9673 Florida Boulevard around 4 a.m. on the first arriving engine and worked for nearly 20 minutes removing people from danger and suppressing the fire, according to a news release from the Louisiana State Fire Marshal.
